Secondly, a new competition announcement:

Call for Poems

We will again be collaborating with Waveney and Blyth Arts on a number of Walks and Workshops over the summer. In particular we have been asked whether members have written or are prepared to write poems about the old railway that used to run up to Southwold. There will be a walk along the old track from Blythborough to Southwold on August 1st and the organiser Ann McClarnon would like to have some poetry about the line read at different parts of the walk, either by the poets themselves or other behalf.

Final call to members for AGM

The Committee of Suffolk Poetry Society cordially invites members to our Annual General Meeting at 2pm on Sunday 12th March 2017 at St John’s Church Hall, St John’s Street, Woodbridge IP12 1ED. This is an important meeting which gives you the chance to express your opinions; your vote depends on your subscription being paid.

There is some street parking near St John’s Church Hall and a car park at the bottom of New Street, a short distance away.

Festival In Conversation — call for interviewees

Those who have been to our festivals will know that during the evening we have traditionally had an In Conversation spot. This year we wish to hold one with a slight difference. We would like the conversation to be between our own poets who have been recently published.

This will relate well to Antony Johae's morning workshop on getting published.

AGM 12th March

Happy New Year! The committee is now preparing for the AGM on 12th March 2-5pm at St John’s Hall, Woodbridge. Along with membership cards/membership renewal forms, we have just sent out nomination forms which should be completed by anyone who is willing to stand as a trustee for next year at the AGM. Completed forms (with proposers and seconders) should be signed and sent back to the Secretary by 27th January. All those standing, proposing and seconding should ensure they have paid their subscriptions in order to nominate and vote.
