Hattie Bennett of Music in Felixstowe, who performed with us at the highly successful Singing Stone event in Ipswich, has suggested that poets may be particularly interested in the following performance of words and music on:

Friday February 24th  at Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club at 7.30pm:

The Soldier’s Tale – Stravinsky, original libretto by Ramuz

Façade – William Walton, words by Edith Sitwell

Kenneth Sillito violin, Harriet Bennett cello and bass, Anna Noakes flute,  Cliff Wybrow clarinet, Steve Lock bassoon, John Jermy trumpet, Tony Parsons trombone, Sandra Tate saxophone, Gary Kettel percussion

With Emily Bennett and Charles Hart actors

Tickets £12, children free

Booking advisable from Stillwater Books and from Music in Felixstowe on 01394 670633

You could be inspired by the performance to write your own related poetry as you listen, though on this occasion it will not be performed as part of the event.
