The adjudicator for the 2017 George Crabbe Memorial Competiton is Esther Morgan.
Her first collection, Beyond Calling Distance, was published by Bloodaxe Books in 2001 and went on to be awarded the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival First Collection Prize and to be nominated in the East England Arts ‘Six of the Best’ Awards in the new talent category. Her third collection, Grace (Bloodaxe, 2011) was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize. She has taught creative writing at the University of East Anglia, has been an Arvon tutor and Historic Recordings Manager for The Poetry Archive. Her fourth collection is due from Bloodaxe in 2018.
This year there is a prize for young poets aged 18-25 on the closing date 15th June 2017.
